The Highlands & Islands Community Broadcasting Federation HICBF (The Federation) was formed to pull together all the local community radio stations throughout the Highland and Island area and its hinterland for the mutual benefit of each other. This it has achieved with reasonable success over the past 14 years.

Taken from the constitution the Object of the federation is to:

“…. encourage advancement of training and education: support the Arts and indigenous culture; and the promotion of industry and commerce for the benefit of the Public in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.”

To achieve this the Federation will:

Encourage the provision of community broadcasting services for the benefit of the public within the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Provide advice and assistance with regard to the establishment and operation of organisations, which are established for the promotion of community broadcasting services.

Support the development and provision of appropriate training opportunities.

Membership to the federation is open to any individual, business, associate or group interested in the objects of the Federation, each individual, business, associate group having one vote.
